Navy QB Tago Smith Suffers Torn ACL

Navy senior quarterback Tago Smith suffered a season-ending torn ACL during a 52-16 victory against Fordham Sept. 3.

Smith injured his right knee on the third play of the second quarter after a 22-yard run. Smith had rushed for 97 yards on 10 carries with a pair of touchdowns and seamlessly ran the triple-option during his short time in the game.

Smith had spent three years playing behind record-setting quarterback Keenan Reynolds and was on his way toward leaving his own mark on the program. Navy head coach Ken Niumatalolo had to take a few moments to compose himself when discussing Smith's injury after the game.
