Today was the day any player on the Ravens' roster bubble dreads.
He is visited either at his locker or in the meeting rooms, told to see the head coach and to bring his playbook with him. At that point, he is told he no longer fits into the team's plans.
Head coach John Harbaugh is not usually given to sentimentality, but there are a few pangs of remorse evident as he recounts the feeling that goes along with releasing a player.
"I don't know if it's the toughest part of the job," Harbaugh said Aug. 29. "There's a lot of tough parts to the job, if you have any empathy. We build relationships here, you know.
