The Orioles' three-game series in New York got started on the wrong foot -- or maybe the wrong hamstring.

During the Birds' forgettable 14-4 loss to the Yankees, center fielder Adam Jones was forced out of the game in the second inning with a strained left hamstring.

The injury first cropped up during the Orioles' Aug. 25 loss to the Nationals, when Jones couldn't take his at-bat in the ninth inning because of cramping in his hamstring. And though Jones was back in the starting lineup Aug. 26, he had just one at-bat before leaving again.

The Orioles, as yet, have given no word on Jones' status moving forward. If he has to miss some time, though, it'll mark the second significant injury for the Birds in recent days. Ace right-hander Chris Tillman landed on the 15-day disabled list Aug. 24 with right shoulder bursitis.
