Of all the recruits former Maryland head coach Randy Edsall and his staff nabbed while they were in College Park, Md., few stacked up in terms of pedigree to Damian Prince, a five-star recruit on Rivals in 2014.
Prince, out of Bishop McNamara in Forestville, Md., was rated the No. 1 player in the state of Maryland, the No. 2 offensive tackle in the nation and the 20th-best recruit overall in the nation by Rivals.com. A bevy of highly respected programs were interested in Prince, but he opted to stay home.
Prince sat out the 2014 season, but he stepped into the fray last year. He started at right tackle against West Virginia, Michigan, Ohio State, Penn State, Michigan State and Rutgers. Prince appeared in four other games, as well. He matched up often with former Buckeyes defensive end Joey Bosa when the Terps played in Columbus, Ohio, Oct. 10.
