Since the 2014 season, the Maryland football team has had a pair of brothers at wide receiver in senior Levern Jacobs and junior Taivon Jacobs. Levern led the Terps in receiving last year with 425 yards on 35 catches, while Taivon was third with 264 yards on 21 catches.
The productive receiving duo from Suitland High School is joined by another pair of brothers this year -- Elijah and Elisha Daniels, twin brothers from Cardinal Gibbons High School in Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Both defensive backs are listed at 6-foot, and each Daniels brother joins the competition for reps on the back end.
The Daniels brothers' commitment to Maryland was secured in January, after Durkin landed the Terps' head coaching job. Elijah Daniels said he was recruited by Durkin, defensive backs coach Aazaar Abdul-Rahim and defensive coordinator Andy Buh. He was also recruited by Scott Shaffer, who was initially hired as defensive coordinator, before he left for personal reasons.
