When a new head coach takes over a college football team, the entire program gets a facelift.
The new coach can instill his ideas and philosophies into each aspect of the program. And some of the most important changes are the ones no one can see on game day.
Among the changes DJ Durkin made to Maryland's football program, one in particular garnered glowing reviews from coaches and players during media day: the hiring of new strength coordinator Rick Court.
"It's like no other," freshman defensive back Elijah Daniels said of Court's strength program. "Coach Durkin told us right on my official visit that he's going to make sure we have the best of the best. With the resume that Coach Court has, he really is the best of the best. We always do everything fast-paced, fast-tempo to be great in games coming into the season."
