When Casey Stengel got around to writing a book about his experiences managing the expansion New York Mets, the title was one of his most repeated quotations: "Can't Anybody Here Play This Game?"
Anybody trying to analyze the American League East standings this season might ask a similar question: "Can Anybody Here Win This Race?"
As teams close in on the three-quarter point mark, all of the top three AL East teams would qualify for the playoffs -- but all were looking more like Wild Cards than division winners. And it's beginning to look like the team that survives will be the one that beats up the most on former contender, and everyone's chief rival, the New York Yankees.
