Navy Leads The Way As Women's Soccer Season Begins

The 2015 season was difficult for most of the state's five Division I women's soccer programs. Navy was the only team to post a winning record, finishing 11-7-4.

The Midshipmen, who return most of their key players, should contend for a Patriot League championship. Loyola, Maryland, Towson and UMBC are seeking better fortunes during a season that kicks off Aug. 19.

Loyola:

During the 2013 season, the Greyhounds recorded one Patriot League victory in eight games. But head coach Naomi Meiburger, who was hired before the 2014 campaign, seems to have Loyola headed in the right direction.
