Kate Jordan of Lee & Associates and Ryan Burrows of JLL Named Among 20 Professionals Nationally for Developing Leader Award by NAIOP

Professionals are seventh and eighth NAIOP Maryland members to be recognized with honor in past eight years

Kate Jordan of Lee & Associates and Ryan Burrows of JLL have been selected to receive the 2016 Developing Leaders Award by NAIOP, the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, and are among only twenty professionals to be recognized for this honor across the country. The award is reserved for commercial real estate professionals under 35 years of age who have distinguished themselves and show promise as a future industry leader.

The two professionals become the seventh and eighth NAIOP Maryland members to achieve this distinction in the past eight years. Alex Kopicki, Principal of Solstice Partners and Kinglet was selected in 2009; Brendan Gill of The MacKenzie Companies was recognized in 2011; Taylor Fields of Knott Realty Group received the award in 2012; Christopher Murray, Vice President and Principal of Mid-Atlantic Properties was the recipient in 2013; Jonathan Manekin of JLL was honored in 2015 and Nicole Wilhelm-Smith of ECS Mid-Atlantic received the Developing Award last year.

NAIOP currently has more than 18,000 members nationally among fifty-one chapters, of which more than 4200 are considered Developing Leaders. NAIOP Maryland currently has about 85 Developing Leader members.

Kate Jordan handles commercial real estate sales and leasing activities in her role as Senior Vice President for Lee & Associates from her office in Columbia, Maryland. She is currently Chair of the NAIOP Maryland Developing Leaders program, serves on the Community Service committee is and among the founders of the Baltimore Collegiate School for Boys, in which more than 260 are enrolled students in the fourth through seventh grades. Earlier this year, she was named the winner of the “2016 Rising Star Award” by NAIOP Maryland.

Ryan Burrows is Vice President, Mid-Atlantic Industrial Property Services Group of JLL, a national brokerage organization with a full-service office in Baltimore. Among his primary client responsibilities is handling the sales and leasing activities for Tradepoint Atlantic, a 3100-acre industrial site in the Sparrows Point section of Baltimore that is considered the largest industrial development project on the East Coast. This year, he was among three Co-Chairs of the NAIOP Maryland’s “Awards of Excellence” program and he is also involved with the Community Service committee.

More than 370 professionals are involved in NAIOP Maryland, comprised of companies and individuals working in development, investment, construction, brokerage, asset management, finance, architecture, engineering and legal services.

NAIOP is the nation’s leading trade association for developers, owners, investors and other professionals in industrial, office and mixed-use commercial real estate. Comprising 18,000 members in 55 chapters, it provides networking opportunities, educational programs, research on trends and innovations and strong legislative representation.
