Tarlesha Wayne
The Children’s Guild, which provides special education and is part of the TranZed Alliance, named Tarlesha Wayne principal of its Prince George’s County campus. Wayne brings 15 years of experience in the delivery and management of special education services.
Prior to joining The Children’s Guild, Wayne was principal of the District of Columbia Schools for The National Children’s Center and, before that, principal of the center’s Southeast School. Previously, Wayne was a special education teacher at Friendship Public Charter School, the National Children’s Center and Devereux Advanced Behavioral Health.
In addition, Wayne is a professional development consultant and facilitator through the District of Columbia Association for Special Education Schools.
Wayne also volunteers in women’s athletics. She is the athletic director for the Forestville Boys & Girls Club and coached softball at Bowie State University and Howard University as well as women’s tackle football for the Washington Prodigy.
Wayne attended Bowie State University on a softball scholarship where she earned a Master of Science in special education and a Bachelor of Science in psychology.
