Cody Sedlock, the Orioles' first-round pick during the 2016 MLB Draft, has started four games for the Orioles' Class A short-season Aberdeen IronBirds thus far in his professional career, but his July 29 start was his first in Aberdeen after three road starts.
The right-handed Sedlock gave up two runs and struck out four in three innings of work at Leidos Field at Ripken Stadium. Earlier in the day before his start, Sedlock joined Glenn Clark Radio to discuss the beginning of his professional career, his workload in college and where he grew up.
Sedlock's four starts with the IronBirds have all lasted three innings. In his 12 innings of work thus far, he's given up four runs, walked five and struck out 11. He was drafted 27th overall as compensation for the Orioles losing lefty Wei-Yin Chen to the Miami Marlins in free agency this winter. Sedlock was signed and introduced to the crowd at Camden Yards during a game against Toronto June 17.
