Caroline Blatti
Roland Park Country School (RPCS), an independent college preparatory school serving girls in grades K-12 with a Preschool for girls and boys, welcomed Caroline Blatti as the seventh Head of School on July 1, 2016.
Blatti came to RPCS from Hutchison School, a PK2-12 grade school for girls in Memphis, TN, where she served in the role of Upper School Head and was the founding Director of Hutchison Leads, a program she researched, designed, funded and implemented that has dramatically transformed the school’s curriculum and its students’ lives. With over 10 years of teaching and coaching experience in independent schools, Blatti brings to RPCS her passion for developing young women into strong, capable leaders.
Blatti succeeded Jean Waller Brune upon her retirement at the end of the 2015–2016 academic year. Brune served as the Head of RPCS for 24 years and presided over three capital campaigns that transformed the campus. Today, RPCS offers its students a 6:1 student-faculty ratio; a rigorous academic program that includes seven foreign languages, 28 advanced placement courses and a STEM Institute;and an extensive extracurricular program that includes 16 varsity sports and a comprehensive arts program.
“On behalf of the entire RPCS board of trustees, I am honored to welcome Caroline as our new Head of School,” said Catherine McDonnell, president of the Board of Trustees for RPCS. “She brings a tremendous level of energy and enthusiasm to our school, and her commitment to developing our students’ leadership capabilities will serve the community well.”
Blatti stated, “I’m excited to continue advancing the values and mission of RPCS, working as a community to make sure every girl has the skills she needs to pursue her individual journey. One of my goals is to forge strong ties between RPCS students and area leaders, offering our students new mentoring opportunities while developing the next generation of talent their organizations need.”
Blatti graduated from an all-girls preparatory school in New Jersey, and from there she went on to receive her BA from Princeton University and her MA from University College London. She has also served as a Fellow at the Peabody Professional Institute on Independent School Leadership at Vanderbilt University, and a Gardner Carney Leadership Institute Scholar and a Memphis Leadership Academy Fellow.
