Incoming Maryland freshman Kevin Huerter was recently named to the USA Basketball U18 national team. The team is in Chile to participate in the 2016 FIBA Americas U18 Championship July 19-23. Huerter, a 6-foot-6 shooting guard from Clifton Park, N.Y., was named the state's Mr. Basketball this season.
The U18 team is lead by Texas head coach Shaka Smart, with Terps head coach Mark Turgeon serving as an assistant. Huerter chatted with PressBox before the team took off for Chile.
