Fantasy Baseball First-Half Risers, Fallers: Pitchers

As many fantasy owners were attempting to make trades during the All-Star break to help their team for the next two and a half months, the real teams were doing the same thing. The Boston Red Sox acquired left-handed starting pitcher Drew Pomeranz from the San Diego Padres to help bolster their rotation. Pomeranz has had a great season with a 2.47 ERA and 1.06 WHIP, but he will now face tougher lineups in the American League East.

Unfortunately, if you are in a National League specific format, you just lost one of your best pitchers for nothing. If you are a Pomeranz owner in a mixed league format, I would be contacting owners to see if you can work out a trade. Pomeranz has pitched well, but he will probably regress as he heads to the AL and faces potent lineups, like the Toronto Blue Jays and Baltimore Orioles, consistency.
