The Baltimore Orioles wrapped up the first half of the season with a 51-36 record and a two-game lead in the American League East. With the All-Star Game in the books, Glenn Clark hands out his first-half superlatives.
PressBox: Which player, not currently on the 25-man roster but in the organization, will make the biggest difference down the stretch:
Glenn Clark: Catcher Chance Sisco. If Caleb Joseph continues to struggle at the plate, Sisco could get the call to step in. As much as everyone likes Joseph and feels sympathy toward his horrendous injury, he's hitting .160 and doesn't have an RBI all season. In recent at-bats he's just looked lost. That can't continue forever. Sisco isn't on the 40-man roster, so maybe Francisco Pena is a more likely option, but Sisco has been productive and could be a bold addition. If I had to pick a pitcher, I'd say Mike Wright.
