As the Ravens' 2016 roster takes shape during training camp, there's no doubt management is already looking ahead to what it will look like in 2017 and beyond.
With camp slated to begin July 27, the team is in better salary cap shape this time of year than at any time in recent memory, with $13.1 million on hand, according to OverTheCap.com.
The amount is the 11th most in the league and sixth highest in the 16-team AFC, which makes the looming July 15 franchise-tag deadline for Justin Tucker not as urgent as it otherwise might have been.
As much as the Ravens would like to sign their kicker to a long-term deal, the deadline won't have the drama it had in 2012, when running back Ray Rice signed with mere minutes to spare.
