The Dundalk football team has been enjoying some extra attention from its surrounding community.
The Owls have been the darlings of the Dundalk area since last fall, when they reached the Maryland Public Secondary School Athletics Association 3A state championship. It was Dundalk's first football state finals appearance, and although the Owls lost to Damascus (Montgomery County), the community has been celebrating the team that provided the school with its best football season.
The celebration continued during the holiday weekend, when the Owls were invited to march in the 82nd Annual Dundalk Fourth of July Parade. The Owls received raucous cheers as they walked through the streets, which at this point is not surprising for the team's players.
