As we head into the final series before the All-Star break, many injuries have occurred during the last few days that fantasy owners need to pay attention to. I will attack each one separately.
New York Mets Starting Pitcher Matt Harvey -- The right-hander hasn't been right all season, recording a 4.86 ERA and 1.47 WHIP. Harvey's season, and potentially his career, just turned for the worse, as he has been diagnosed with "symptoms consistent with thoracic outlet syndrome" and is considering undergoing season-ending shoulder surgery. This injury is tough to explain, but other pitchers who have experienced it either had their career end, or they were never the same when they did return. It's too early to start coming to conclusions like that, but it's hard to imagine Harvey will return until later in the summer, at the earliest, and fantasy owners need to start looking for other alternatives to help their pitching staff.
