Johns Hopkins President Gets 5-Year Extension

Summer is when some teams decide to go looking for new players, but Johns Hopkins is sticking with its current leader for another five years.

According to the JHU Hub, the university’s board of trustees signed off on a five-year contract extension for Ronald J. Daniels. The move keeps Daniels in the top job through 2024.

Daniels took office in 2009, and has had one other contract extension since. Under his watch, the university has focused on recruiting elite professors through a Bloomberg program, expanding startups. This year, Hopkins led a community hiring pledge called HopkinsLocal.
