Andrew Flott and John Sarbanes
Y welcomes professionals from the higher education, government and business sectors
The Y in Central Maryland is pleased to announce the addition of Dr. Kevin Banks, Andrew Flott, Congressman John Sarbanes and Harris Thompson to its Association Board of Directors.
Dr. Kevin Banks serves as vice president of student affairs at Morgan State University. He has previously worked at the University of South Florida, where he was the assistant vice president and dean of students. He graduated from Winston-Salem State University with a bachelor’s degree in political science and government, from Polytechnic University of New York with a master’s degree in business management, and from Nova Southeastern University with a doctorate degree in higher education administration. He has over 25 years of experience in the student affairs field.
Andrew Flott has over 29 years of community banking experience and is the co-president and chief executive officer of Revere Bank. He is chair of the Prince George’s District of the National Capital Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America and sits on the organization’s board of the National Capital Area Chapter. He also serves on the Howard General Hospital Foundation. Mr. Flott graduated from Mount St. Mary’s University with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and from the School for Bank Administration at the University of Wisconsin with a controllership degree.
Congressman John Sarbanes has represented Maryland’s 3rd District in the United States Congress since 2007. He is a member of the Committee on Energy and Commerce where he serves on the Subcommittee on Health and the Subcommittee on Energy and Power. Prior to serving in Congress, Sarbanes worked at Venable LLP and the Maryland State Department of Education. He graduated from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University, studied law and politics in Greece on a Fulbright Scholarship and holds a degree from Harvard Law School.
Harris Thompson joined Pivot Physical Therapy in 2015 as its chief executive officer. Prior to joining Pivot, Harris was the president of the North Region for American Anesthesiology and held several management positions at GE Capital, GE Corporate Audit Staff and GE’s Six Sigma Initiatives. He graduated from Syracuse University with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and economics and from Emory University with a master’s degree in business administration.
