When a school wins a national championship, a conference championship or even just a big game, alumni from all around the world celebrate the accomplishment with glee. It was no different for Coastal Carolina University, which won its first national championship against Arizona June 30 at the College World Series in Omaha, Neb.
One of those excited alums was Baltimore Ravens running back Lorenzo Taliaferro, who played football for Coastal Carolina in 2012 and 2013. The Yorktown, Va., native started at the junior college level at Lackawanna College in Pennsylvania. But Taliaferro is a Chanticleer at heart, and he was as excited as any alum about the title.
The Chanticleers' baseball squad had been a consistent participant in the NCAA tournament during the last decade and a half but broke through with the title this year. Taliaferro joined Glenn Clark Radio July 1 to talk about Coastal Carolina's championship.
