Tracking The Orioles' Chase For Home Run History: 81-Game Checkpoint

The Orioles reached the exact halfway point of their 2016 regular season schedule July 3 by playing their 81st game, a 9-4 defeat in Seattle that clinched a four-game Mariners sweep. The Birds' pitching staff imploded during the disastrous series against the M's, coughing up 31 runs during the four games, with three of the Orioles' four starters getting chased in the fifth inning or earlier.

One thing the O's continued to do well, though, was bash home runs, collecting one blast in each of the four games. As the Birds barrel toward the all-time franchise home run record -- 257, set by the 1996 Orioles -- let's check in again on how the two clubs fared at the halfway points of their respective seasons.
