New Employee Will Lead and Manage Technical Projects for the Organization’s Targeted Manufacturing Clients
The Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MD MEP), a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing manufacturing in the State of Maryland, announced today that the organization has expanded its team with a new Account Manager, Michael Huppman. As Account Manager, Huppman will be responsible for building relationships and helping Maryland manufacturers look to MD MEP to improve manufacturing processes, products, sustainability, sales, and market size.
Huppman will manage all activities within his defined territories, working to achieve company-client new and retained sales, job retention and growth, new capital investment, cost savings, and clients served. The new MEP team member will also be responsible for identifying and electing prospective manufacturing clients to promote MD MEP service capabilities, developing and leveraging relationships with governmental organizations associated with MD MEP, and leading and directing various technical projects.
Prior to joining MD MEP, Huppman developed his career across various levels of manufacturing – from technician to management. In his most recent position, Huppman served as Operations Manager for Masterworks, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Hexagon Lincoln, the national leader in composite pressure vessel manufacturing. “As a native Marylander, I am very excited to join the MD MEP team and apply my diverse experience to provide effective solutions to Maryland’s manufacturers,” said Huppman. “I am eager to not only apply my knowledge and skills to help MD MEP continue its mission and build its already stellar roster of Maryland manufacturers, but to expand my expertise to help further cultivate MD MEP’s brand as experts of and the sole resource for manufacturing in the State of Maryland.”
Huppman graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore County with a BS in Mechanical Engineering, and received his MBA from Mount Saint Mary’s University. He currently resides in Hampstead, Maryland with his wife and three daughters.
“MD MEP is thrilled to add a seasoned and well-rounded engineer to our team,” said Brian Sweeney, Executive Director of Maryland Manufacturing Extension Partnership. “Michael brings a diverse background and his experience will most certainly enhance MD MEP’s efforts to serve, grow, and support manufacturing in the state of Maryland.”
