UMBC Director of Athletics Tim Hall announced June 20 the hiring of Ryan Moran as the Retrievers' new head men's lacrosse coach.
Moran becomes the Retrievers' third head coach since UMBC joined the USILA in 1970-71. Dick Watts led UMBC from 1971-1993 and Don Zimmerman also just completed his 23rd season at the helm of the program.
"Ryan Moran is more than ready to take Retriever men's lacrosse to new heights and once again have our program a contender on the regional and national scene," Hall said. "He is intelligent, thoughtful, a fantastic recruiter, an extraordinary strategist and is completely committed to academic success and the welfare of his athletes. We are excited to welcome him to the UMBC family."
