It seems unlikely former Baltimore City College standout Nick Faust will hear his name called during the NBA Draft June 23. Major mock draft analysts are not predicting Faust will be selected at any point during the two-round event.
Even failing to get drafted wouldn't be the end of the world for a player like Faust, as he is likely to get invited to participate with a NBA summer league team, which could turn into a training camp invite, a spot on a NBA Development League team and perhaps even a future spot on a NBA roster. If that doesn't work, a pro career in Europe could very well beckon.
NBA teams have certainly shown interest in the former University of Maryland swingman, who finished his college career at Long Beach State after transferring from College Park, Md. He has been invited to work out for teams across the country, including the Washington Wizards, and participated in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament, the only player from the Big West Conference to receive an invite to the pre-draft showcase for college seniors.
