Ravens Minicamp: Joe Flacco Says He's Ready To Play

When an NFL team gathers for the annual mandatory minicamp, the focus is supposed to be on the field.

It's a time when position battles begin in earnest, rookies begin to see how they truly stack up against established veterans and borderline players get perhaps their last shot to stick with the organization.

"The competition here is fierce," offensive coordinator Marc Trestman said. "You can honestly stand in front of the group and say, 'Everybody here deserves to be in the National Football League.' Unfortunately, not everybody is going to be a Raven.

"There is a competition for the guys who want to be in one, and everybody is in the competition. That is exciting. That has brought up the sense of urgency in everything we are doing, both in the classroom and on the field."
