The Orioles' outfield situation is crowded and potentially becoming more so with several high-profile minor league prospects and veterans making their case to earn a promotion.
At Triple-A Norfolk alone, Dariel Alvarez, Xavier Avery, L.J. Hoes and Christian Walker all are waiting in the wings if a need arises in the Baltimore outfield due to injury or poor play.
Whittling down call-ups won't be an easy decision for the organization, and Double-A Bowie outfielder Henry Urrutia is hoping his improved play will be enough to propel himself into the conversation.
"Let me tell you, when [the Orioles] sent me to Double-A, I was so, so mad," Urrutia said June 8 on Glenn Clark Radio. "I can't lie about it because people know I was really mad, because sometimes where I come from, we don't understand … this stuff. … Professional baseball is different to the ball that we have played our whole life."
