Fantasy Baseball Waiver-Wire Watch: June 10, 2016

On June 9, Major League Baseball handed down its suspensions for the fight between Baltimore Orioles shortstop Manny Machado and Kansas City Royals starting pitcher Yordano Ventura June 7. Machado received a four-game suspension, while Ventura got nine.

Both players appealed, so this could last into late next week, and there's a chance at least one game gets knocked off for each. If the ruling stands at four games for Machado, fantasy owners in a weekly format may be forced to bench the shortstop. The best-case scenario is he is only out three games, and you can sustain keeping him active. Ventura has struggled this season, and despite having a ton of talent, it's hard to justify keeping a guy with a 5.32 ERA and a low six strikeouts per nine innings.

Injuries To Follow:

Houston Astros shortstop Carlos Correa sprained his ankle running through first base June 9 and is listed as day-to-day. Hopefully, the youngster will only have to miss a game or two, but fantasy owners need to be aware in case this lingers through the entire weekend.
