WHAT: Waterfront Partnership’s First Annual Baltimore Floatilla For A Healthy Harbor

Mr. Trash Wheel will join 200 experienced paddlers as they launch their canoes, kayaks and standup paddle boards from the Canton Waterfront Park, paddle 2.5 miles and rally at the Inner Harbor where they will raise their paddles and voices for clean and healthy water during the Waterfront Partnership’s first annual paddling floatilla event—The Baltimore Floatilla for a Healthy. Participants will then paddle back to Canton Waterfront Park for an after-party featuring food, fun and live music by Baltimore’s own Tongue in Cheek.

WHEN: Saturday, June 11, 2016

8:00 a.m. - Paddlers will launch from Canton Waterfront Park

10:00 a.m. - Approximate arrival to the Inner Harbor (by the Maryland Science Center)

10:00-10:30 a.m. – “Rally” at the Inner Harbor

12:00-2:00 p.m. - After-party at Canton Waterfront Park

WHERE: Canton Waterfront Park, 3001 Boston Street, Baltimore, MD 21224

MEDIA Media will have access to the rooftop of the Maryland Science Center, the Inner

OPS: Harbor Promenade, and a designated media boat docked by the Maryland Science Center that can go out into the Harbor.

Interviews are available with Waterfront Partnership’s board chair, Mike Hankin; the Healthy Harbor Director, Adam Lindquist; and Will Baker of the Chesapeake Bay Foundation at the Inner Harbor Promenade. Interviews with participants are available before or after the paddle at Canton Waterfront Park.
