Sue Manning
Howard County General Hospital: A Member of Johns Hopkins Medicine announced the appointment of Sue Manning as director of strategic planning, beginning Monday, April 19.
As such, she will lead HCGH’s annual strategic planning process in support of hospital priorities, directing planning efforts for new business development opportunities, as well as the hospital’s community health needs assessment and community benefit efforts. She also will serve as a liaison to the Johns Hopkins Health System to ensure alignment around the strategic direction of the hospital and system goals and priorities.
“We are delighted to welcome Sue to our leadership team,” said M. Shafeeq Ahmed, M.D., MBA, interim president of Howard County General Hospital. “She is an experienced health care executive, skilled in leading strategic planning initiatives.”
Manning most recently served as vice president of strategy for Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, New Hampshire. Prior to that, she was the director of strategy, quality and performance improvement at NCH Healthcare System in Naples, Florida.
She received a Bachelor of Science degree in industrial engineering from Pennsylvania State University, a Master of Science degree in industrial engineering from North Carolina State University and a Master of Business Administration degree from Duke University. She is also a Lean/Six Sigma black belt.
