Maryland Confirms more than 1,000 New COVID-19 Cases for Third Straight Day as Average Case Rate Continues to Climb

Maryland health officials on Thursday reported more than 1,000 new cases for the third straight day.

The state’s coronavirus caseload rose by 1,444 new cases, an increase of about 0.34%.

The seven-day average number of daily new cases has been rising since early March. The average case rate is now 23.56 cases per 100,000 residents, nearly double the rate of 12.33 cases per 100,000 residents on March 6 — the lowest it had been since October.
