Nick Mosby Uses BOE as a Sounding Board for Complaints about the Inspector General

City Council President Nick Mosby handed over a large portion of today’s Board of Estimates hearing to two towing company attorneys, who used the meeting as a megaphone to badmouth Baltimore’s chief corruption fighter.

“They’ve already been punished enough. There were no other towing companies investigated who may have done exactly the same thing,” complained attorney William Selinsky, charging that Inspector General Isabel Mercedes Cumming had “singled out” Universal Towing because its owner is a Black businessman.

Last month, Mosby’s wife, Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby, criticized Cumming for being unfair and for not allowing her attorneys to revise an IG report critical of Mosby’s out-of-state travels and private businesses.
