Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Beverage Association, Local Beverage Bottlers and the American Beverage Foundation for a Healthy America, Support Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay with a $5,000 Grant

3/1/21

The Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Beverage Association, in partnership with local beverage bottlers and the American Beverage Foundation for a Healthy America (ABFHA), announced today that it has made a $5,000 grant to the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay.

The contribution will be used to alleviate program costs for Girl Scouts unable to afford activity fees related to environmental stewardship programs.

“Our local beverage bottlers and the ABFHA are thrilled to support the Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay,” said Ellen Valentino, Executive Vice President of the Maryland-Delaware-D.C. Beverage Association. “COVID-19 has either curtailed or forced the cancellation of fundraising activities, including cookie sales. We are proud to make sure the girls can participate in these exciting programs.”

The Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay represents all troops across the state of Delaware, the Eastern Shores of Maryland and Virginia.

“We are grateful for the grant from the local beverage bottlers and the foundation,” said Denise Eberspeaker, Director of Development, Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay “Without their generosity and support many of our Girl Scouts would have missed an opportunity to participate in these rich, educational programs that are tied to leadership and environmental stewardship.”
