Maryland’s COVID-19 Hospitalizations Continue to Decrease but Remain Higher than Most of Pandemic

The number of Marylanders currently hospitalized with coronavirus decreased to 1,616 on Friday, state data show.

Other than a slight increase on Wednesday, Maryland’s COVID-19 hospitalizations have been trending downward since Jan. 19.

Despite the recent declines, however, there are still more people hospitalized with coronavirus than the daily hospitalizations that the state saw from early May through early December.
