1/28/21

Thursday, May 6, at 7:30 p.m.

Stand-up comic, actor and director Kevin Pollak will headline Baltimore Hebrew Congregation’s 11th annual Night of the Stars. The event, “A Night In with Kevin Pollack,” will be virtual and benefit Baltimore Hebrew’s Youth Community including the E.B. Hirsh Early Childhood Center and Youth Education. Event chairs are Brett Cohen, Amy Baum and Lisa Levy.

Event headliner Kevin Pollak portrays Moishe Maiselon Amazon’s Golden Globe-winning show “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.” He brings a long career in stand-up comedy. By age 20, he was at the top of San Francisco’s stand-up comedy scene and became a regular guest on “The Johnny Carson Show.”

In 1992, Pollak’s role in Rob Reiner’s “A Few Good Men” launched his movie career. His transformation to a dramatic actor landed him roles in “The Usual Suspects” and “Casino,” and he went on to appear in 78 films over 29 years, including co-starring in five well-known films in 2016. His first role as director was for the comedy documentary “Misery Loves Company,” which premiered at the 2015 Sundance Film Festival.

Pollak was named by Comedy Central as one of the “Top 100 Comedians of all Time.” In 2013, he released his autobiography “How I Slept My Way to the Middle.” Pollak is also a pioneer in the podcast world, and his award-winning “Kevin Pollak’s Chat Show” debuted in March 2009 and features over 300 interviews with guests from Tom Hanks to Elon Musk.
