Maryland’s COVID-19 Hospitalizations Reach Pandemic High, State Reports Second-highest Number of New Cases

Two weeks after Christmas Day and one week after New Year’s Day, the number of Marylanders currently hospitalized with coronavirus reached a new state record with 1,885 COVID-19 patients.

Previously, the highest number of current hospitalizations was 1,862 COVID-19 patients on Dec. 6.

Of the Marylanders who are now hospitalized with coronavirus, 1,438 are in acute care and 447 are in intensive care.
