
On the last day of 2020, Maryland reported 46 more coronavirus-related deaths, adding to the total of 5,727 Marylanders who have been confirmed to have died from COVID-19 this year.
In December, 1,241 Marylanders were confirmed to have died from coronavirus — the second largest number of COVID-19 fatalities reported in one month after the state reported 1,364 deaths in May.
During the pandemic, another 168 residents’ deaths were suspected to be related to the virus.
