DLA Piper Advises Exelon Corp. and Exelon Generation in $810M Agreement to Sell Solar Business to Brookfield Renewable

DLA Piper is representing Exelon Corporation (NASDAQ: EXC) and its subsidiary Exelon Generation Company in the sale of Exelon Generation’s solar business to Brookfield Renewable Partners for US$810 million. The deal is expected to close in the first half of 2021.

Exelon Corporation is a Fortune 100 energy company serving electricity and natural gas customers across the United States and doing business in 48 US states. Exelon Generation’s solar business includes 360 megawatts of generation in operation or under construction across nearly 600 sites located throughout the US. With the purchase, Brookfield Renewable is expected to retain approximately 60 employees who comprise the solar business.
