Looks like these scientists are cat people. A team of researchers from the Smithsonian Conservation Biology Institute has reportedly spent three years compiling a “D.C. Cat Count” to estimate the number of feline friends that live in the nation’s capital. They hope that establishing a baseline will inform policies for managing feral cats — which can have a major impact on the local ecosystem.
