Casey Cares Foundation to Provide Unique Virtual Halloween Event to Critically-Ill Children in Need of Some Fun

10/23/20

Due to concerns over COVID-19, Halloween will surely be a bit disappointing this year as many families opt to stay home instead of attending a fun party or going trick-or-treating and for children with life threatening illnesses, this will be even more devastating. The Casey Cares Foundation’s mission is to provide uplifting activities for their families to help them cope with the emotional and physical demands of caring for a sick child.

This Halloween, Saturday, October 31 from 11 a.m.- 11:30 a.m., Casey Cares Foundation will be hosting a special on-line Zoom Halloween program and dance party for their families who live in Delaware, Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Washington, DC and West Virginia. (this is not open to the general public). The event will include a costume contest, a fun Edgar Allen Poe video, an Poe-inspired art demonstration and a dance party. Baltimore based Rent-a-Tour Owner Chris Riehl will donate his talents to serve as the Emcee and the video and art demonstration will be provided courtesy of the Edgar Allan Poe House and Museum.

“These are truly difficult times for everyone and especially for our families who are caregivers to critically-ill children. Providing them with an activity that makes memories and allows them to partake in a little fun time is heartwarming and necessary. We’re hoping our Halloween Party will be exactly what the doctor ordered,” said Casey Baynes, executive director and founder of Casey Cares Foundation.

As COIVD-19 restrictions continue and many places remain closed, Casey Cares Foundation continues to provide activities to all their families such as cooking classes and Zoom calls with celebrities. In addition, they continue to send valuable items to families such as pajamas, gift cards, movie night kits and much more.
