Jeffrey A. Davis, a Baltimore advertising and PR agency veteran, has restarted his public relations consulting practice, J. Davis Public Relations, LLC.
He was previously affiliated with Rockville-based Van Eperen and had launched the firm’s Baltimore office.
“Covid-19 has changed how we work. Companies are building best-of-the-best marketing teams based on talent, not location,” Davis said. “I have returned to my PR consultancy to offer communications services that companies reinventing themselves need during these new times.
“My agency expertise and connections will serve companies as we head into the ‘next normal,’” Davis said. “I am available as a remote-working, on-demand strategic communications thought partner, an outsourced PR department or an extra set of hands.”
Davis said he will focus on working with communications firms on agency PR and clients in need of media relations, social media strategy, podcast and blog content and crisis communications.
He founded JD/PR in 2005 after working for Crosby Marketing Communications in Annapolis where he was senior vice president, as well as the PR departments at Baltimore agencies TBC and Carton Donofrio (previously Richardson, Myers & Donofrio).
In 2012, Davis and Charlie Birney co-founded Podcast Village, which has grown to become a premier media production company with state-of-the-art multimedia broadcasting studios in Georgetown and on M Street in Washington, D.C. That same year, they launched the “Practically Social” podcast where the two discuss trends in PR, social media and podcasting.
Prior to entering public relations, Davis served as a reporter for daily newspapers in Ohio, New Jersey and at the Capital-Gazette in Annapolis. He is a three-time president of the Maryland chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and holds a bachelor of arts degree in journalism from Ohio Wesleyan University.
