Bob Wallace
Bob Wallace is First Independent Candidate to Appear on the Ballot
Independent Baltimore City Mayoral Candidate Bob Wallace today unveiled his first campaign advertising spot. The 30-second TV ad, produced by award-winning production company CYM Media, will begin airing across Baltimore City tonight on cable and broadcast television during coverage of the Democratic National Convention.
The Wallace campaign emphasized the importance of speaking directly to Baltimore voters over the next few weeks. The ad shares Bob Wallace’s personal story of growing up poor in South Baltimore’s Cherry Hill neighborhood, graduating from Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, and becoming a successful entrepreneur, businessman and job creator. The ad also shares Bob’s vision for Baltimore in combating the ongoing past failures of Baltimore City’s leadership resulting in record-breaking murders, political corruption and failing schools.
“While the major parties hold their conventions and make their cases to America for why they’re best suited to address our nation’s issues, I will be making my case for why Baltimore needs to take a new direction in City Hall,” said Wallace. “This six-figure ad buy will span several weeks and begin making the case for why I am best suited to address the issues facing our city as a successful businessman and Independent candidate.”

“I am thrilled to share my message of hope for the future with my fellow citizens of Baltimore through my first TV ad,” said Wallace. “This upcoming election promises to be a historic one for Baltimore. We need to make a change now from the status quo of our past failed city leaders before it is too late for our communities, our families, our young people and our entire city. I invite everyone from Democrats to Republicans to Independents to join our movement.”
Wallace recently announced that he officially secured a spot on the ballot in the November General Election after collecting more than 8,000 signatures from registered voters in Baltimore City, far surpassing the necessary minimum signatures requirement to be placed on the ballot. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the Maryland Board of Elections reduced the number of petition signatures needed from 1% of registered city voters (4,000 signatures) to 0.5% of registered city voters (2,000 signatures).
