Maryland reported an additional 1,169 coronavirus cases on Friday, the third time this month the state has recorded a single-day total above 1,000 cases, according to data that the state released today.
Health officials reported 1,291 new cases on July 25 and 1,130 new cases on July 27.
The number of new cases reported has increased for three straight days. After reporting 648 new cases on Tuesday, the state reported 761 cases on Wednesday, 892 on Thursday, and 1,169 today.
The 14-day average number of new cases has reached 855, the highest number since 856 on June 6, and the metric has been rising since the beginning of July, according to The Baltimore Sun‘s data tracker.
