Maryland’s Coronavirus Hospitalizations Increase by 27 Patients

There have been 27 more Marylanders hospitalized with coronavirus since Tuesday, bringing the total number of current hospitalizations to 571, state data show.

The state’s COVID-19 hospitalizations have risen to their highest point in more than a month, dating back to when there were 602 patients on June 22.

While patients in acute care grew by 32 since Tuesday, the number of people in intensive actually decreased by five. Overall, 426 patients are currently in acute care and 145 are in intensive care.

The state has confirmed 86,285 coronavirus cases since the beginning of the pandemic. A total of 792,674 Marylanders have tested negative for the virus as of Wednesday morning, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.
