Maryland COVID-19 Hospitalizations Increase After Nine-day Decline

The number of Marylanders hospitalized for coronavirus has increased after declining for nine consecutive days, state data show.

After reaching a high of 1,500 people hospitalized for COVID-19 on May 16, hospitalizations decreased the next nine days, getting as low as 1,279 on May 25. As of today, the number of COVID-19 hospitalizations went back up to 1,315 people, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.

Of the state’s total number of confirmed cases, 8,179 people who tested positive for COVID-19 were hospitalized at some point, including the 1,315 who are currently hospitalized.
