Brian S. Brown
Brown & Barron, LLC, is a leading civil litigation firm in Maryland with over 75 years of combined trial experience and millions recovered in settlements and verdicts. Today, the firm is pleased to announce that its co-founder and partner, Brian S. Brown, has been named the "2020 Trial Lawyer of the Year" by the Maryland Association for Justice (MAJ).
Since 2000, the MAJ Trial Lawyer of the Year Award has been bestowed annually on the trial lawyer (or team of trial lawyers) who tried or settled the case with the most significant precedential value for Marylanders – and sent a clear message about basic civil and human rights in the process. This year, MAJ selected Attorney Brown for his landmark $1.841 million verdict in Ashley Partlow v. Kennedy Krieger Institute, Inc., in which Attorney Brown successfully argued that the Institute had exposed the 5-year-old Ms. Partlow to dangerous levels of poisonous lead dust through the Lead-Based Paint Abatement and Repair and Maintenance Study.
By holding the Kennedy Krieger Institute accountable for failing to consider the safety of children, Attorney Brown showed that using children as unwitting test subjects will no longer be tolerated by the citizens of Maryland. The groundbreaking verdict was also recently featured in Episode 59 of The Great Trials Podcast with Steve Lowry and Yvonne Godfrey.
As a seasoned trial attorney who has tried over 100 tort cases and obtained over $175 million for his injured clients, Attorney Brian S. Brown has often been honored by other legal organizations, including Super Lawyers, the Litigation Counsel of America, and the Multi-Million Dollar Advocates Forum. The team at Brown & Barron, LLC continually strives to follow his example by advocating for consumers' rights and helping injury victims seek restitution through the civil justice system.
