Maryland Surpasses 2,000 Confirmed COVID-19 Deaths

More than 2,000 Marylanders have died from COVID-19, with the state reporting 41 additional deaths since Tuesday.

About 57 percent of Maryland’s confirmed coronavirus-related deaths to date occurred in nursing homes, assisted living facilities and group homes.

Of the 1,135 people at those facilities who have died so far, 140 of those deaths occurred in the past week.

In addition to the 2,004 Marylanders who are confirmed to have died from COVID-19 to date, there are also 119 deaths suspected to be related to coronavirus.
