Howard County General Hospital is offering online courses covering childbirth, breastfeeding and infant care for new parents. Accessible to participants in their homes and at their own pace, courses include videos, interactive materials and parent resources.
- Understanding Birth includes comprehensive information about pregnancy, labor, childbirth, comfort techniques, C-sections, medical procedures, newborns and postpartum care.
- Understanding Breastfeeding presents how and when to breastfeed, getting enough milk, breast care and the breastfeeding lifestyle.
- Understanding Your Newborn discusses the appearance of newborns, traits and behaviors; crying and comforting; bathing, nail care and dressing; feeding; sleeping; signs of illness; and newborn health and safety.
