Maryland Surpasses 1,600 Confirmed COVID-19 Deaths with 70 Additional Fatal Cases

At least 70 more Marylanders have died from COVID-19 since Monday, bringing the state’s total number of fatal cases to 1,643, state data show.

There are also 113 deaths suspected to be related to coronavirus, according to the Maryland Department of Health’s COVID-19 Case Map Dashboard.

Black Marylanders account for the greatest number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the state, but white Marylanders account for the most COVID-19 deaths overall by a slim margin. The highest death rate is among white Marylanders with the virus.
