Greg Abel
The Daily Record has named Greg Abel, president of Abel Communications, one of Maryland’s 2019 Most Admired CEOs.
The Daily Record created the Most Admired CEOs awards program to recognize talented business CEOs and nonprofit executive directors throughout Maryland for their leadership and vision. The winners were selected based on professional accomplishments, community service and letters of reference submitted by co-workers, board members and community leaders showing the CEO's leadership and vision.
As Marty Brandwin, VP Global Marketing at WorldAware, wrote in his recommendation letter, “Through Greg’s leadership and vision, he’s built a team of the smartest and hardest working PR professionals in our region. He truly cares about his employees, his clients, his partners, and Charm City.”
Greg Abel founded Abel Communications in 2005 as a solo practice. Today, Greg leads 15+ professionals working with top brands like Lyft, BrightFarms, UnitedHealthcare of the Mid-Atlantic, STX, and Loyola University Maryland.
“As Abel Communications has grown, it has been a priority of mine to maintain a positive and supportive culture,” said Greg Abel. “What I’ve come to realize over time is that doing great work requires balance. I respect and practice the philosophy that doing great work in our industry requires well-rounded individuals who live full lives.”
“This year's Most Admired CEOs demonstrate that leadership matters to the quality of our day-to-day lives," said Suzanne Fischer-Huettner, publisher of The Daily Record. "Many people are promoted into leadership roles, but only some people have the emotional intelligence, focus, drive and compassion to become an admired leader.”
The 2019 Most Admired CEOs will be honored tomorrow, Nov. 5, at a dinner starting at 5:15 p.m. at the Hilton Baltimore BWI Airport Hotel. Winners will be profiled in a special magazine that will be inserted into the Nov. 6 issue of The Daily Record and will be available online at www.TheDailyRecord.com.
